Intel has announced that they will make a revision to the existing Extensible Host Controller Interface (xHCI) draft speficication revision 0.9 to make way for future computing needs. The USB 3.0 specification will be running at 600MB/s, roughly ten times what USB 2.0 can offer.

As the xHCI supports the compatibility among older USB devices, Intel claimed that with the specification revisions, it is also easier to develope software support for the industry.

With the increased demands for bandwidth, the USB 3.0 is the answer for the future computing.
