Malaysian first WiMAX provider to go live in Klang Valley

One of the first WiMAX provider in Malaysia, Packet One (P1) will launched it’s WiMAX services in Malaysia officially today.

With it’s services ranging from 400Kbps to 2.4Mbps it is very likely that it will cover the needs of casual surfers to commercial users. The official press release by P1 indicates that they are provider for the vicinity of Klang Valley, namely KLCC, Setapak, Sentul, Gombak and Subang Jaya.

WiMAX service do not require any additional hardwares as long as you have a 802.11b or 802.11g enabled notebook computer or personal computer. Any new generation notebook computers would have such hardware device installed. Dubbed as HotZone, connectivity is as thought you are on a Hotspot, only that this is about 50KM radius!

The present Packet One website enable users to register and get activated online via their ‘no frill’ registration. User can choose to have 24 hours access (RM 5), 7 days access (RM 10) or 30 days access (RM 20). Payment is via FXP which is enabled on various Online Banking, or you can pay via Credit Card.
